5 days Sirimon Route
This is the second most scenic route accessing the higher elevations of Mount Kenya. To reach this route, drive 16km east from Nanyuki town to a dirt road leading to the park gate (2700 meters). This route offers ample acclimatization when climbing Mount Kenya.
Day 1
Leave Nairobi for Sirimon Park Gate. Hike to Old Moses Camp.
Day 2
Hike to Shipton Camp via Mackinder's Valley.
Day 3
Peak circuit to Austria Hut.
Day 4
Attempt Point Lenana for sunrise and descend to Austrian Hut for breakfast before descending further to Old Moses Camp through Simba Col.
Day 5
Walk Leisurely to Park Gate and connect with the transfer vehicle to Nanyuki. After lunch drive to Nairobi and arrive late in the evening.
